Tips for a Better 4th of July, 2016!

What do you have planned for 4th of July, 2016? Whatever your holiday entails, keep these tips in mind for an added dose of freedom and fun!

Finally! We’re almost to the holiday weekend! Whether you’ve been amping up for 4th of July out of excitement for the day off work, a chance to stretch your patriotic muscles, or love of sparklers, there’s a lot to look forward to this weekend. We want to help you make the most of it, so we’ve rounded up a few tips to up your fun factor.

  • Change it up. Traditions are great, but you shouldn’t let them dictate your day. After all, this holiday is all about celebrating our independence, so free yourself from doing the same old thing! Check out a local celebration you haven’t before, swap your grill routine up to incorporate some veggies, or find some star-spangled gear at the thrift store in advance. Adding a little something new into your 4th festivities will make this year extra memorable.
  • Drink up. Whether your plans are low-key or high-intensity, water’s important. If you’re spending time in the sun, it’s doubly important. If you’re going to be having a cocktail or three, it’s triply important. The busyness of the day might make it hard to fill a cup regularly, so carry a refillable bottle with you. Bonus: throw some strawberries and blueberries in it for a patriotic (and delicious) twist!
  • Buddy up. The 4th of July is a day of celebrating freedom, so make sure no one in your crew has their freedom limited by injuries or legal troubles. If a friend has one too many, speak up and offer to hail a cab or rideshare. If someone is trying to relight a dud firecracker, offer a smarter, safer alternative. Take a second to be a pal and you can save your friends from an evening in the ER or the drunk tank, freeing you all up for more fun!
